Marine Corps Recruit Depots (boot camps) are located in San Diego, CA and Parris Island, SC. Marines at MCRD San Diego go to Camp Pendleton's Edson range for rifle training for two weeks and march to the main base for two weeks of infantry training. Camp Pendleton is not part of MCRD San Diego. I am not sure how it's done now as I served in the early Seventies.
