Your recruiter is looking at his numbers and the needs for the guard. Go down to a regular Army recruiter not a guard recruiter, explain the problem and your desire to go active but do it today. You may have to take a trip to the regional recruiting office and speak with the officer in charge but there are plenty of regulations to cover your situation.

If you're in a Delayed Entry Program, you aren't really IN until you swear in at MEPS. Not showing up may disqualify you from ever being able to serve again, so you want to do this the right way. Do go talk to the Army recruiter for guidance.
