Basic Training for the Army is eight weeks long, however you will spend up to one week in Reception Station prior to start of Basic Training.

Wrong tigeress! basic combat training in the army is 9 weeks long- 3 week segments. you will though spend a minimum week at reception. you red, white, and blue phase at basic which all last exactly 3 weeks a piece. Depending on your MOS you will either do BCT then AIT (Advanced Indiviual Training), or you will do OSUT (One Sation Unit Training) BCT to AIT, yes basic is 9 weeks. OSUT, you will be with the same company, platoon and station for your whole training schedule. Infantry, Cavalry, Armor, MP, Artillery all do OSUT which could be from 13 weeks to 27 weeks in the same barracks

Thank you Supplyguy, I stand corrected. The last week or the 9th week is just prepping to graduate. All requirements are finished by the end of the eighth week.
